risk management
Fidem’s IT Risk Management services support boards and CISOs in identifying and strategically mitigating cyber risk. We provide management-level consulting to align technology infrastructure and business processes with ISO 27001.
Through a holistic approach, Fidem helps companies get a complete view of their risks, protecting every aspect of the organization more effectively and in compliance with current regulations.
What the risk management service is.
We take an integrated, holistic approach to identify and mitigate risks in every area of the business, not only in technology. It covers every aspect of the organization, from cybersecurity to human resources and process management, aiming at complete protection in compliance with current regulations.
For those who manage portfolios of strategic infrastructure, Fidem has developed RAISE, the predictive risk management platform based on ISO 31000 and on artificial intelligence modules, in which every assessment is approved by a person before treatment.
Why it matters.
A holistic approach to risk management is crucial to reduce risks proactively. By considering every area of the business, it lets you anticipate dangers, implement timely solutions and build response strategies, so the company is prepared to face unexpected events without compromising business continuity.
Benefits of the consulting.
The benefits of a holistic approach to risk management are many: lower overall risk, better protection of company resources and continuous improvement of company policies. In this way the company can respond proactively to risk events, improving its operational stability and resilience against external and internal threats.
What do we detect?
- Identification of business risks coming from different areas, including operational and technological ones.
- Analysis of vulnerabilities in business processes and resources that could compromise stability.
- Monitoring of changes in legal rules that affect the business as a whole.
- Identification of risks related to partners and the supply chain.
How does it work?
- Constant monitoring of business performance to optimize risk management and improve the response to the unexpected.
- Adoption of risk management policies that involve every department, from people to technology.
- Implementation of strategies to ensure business continuity in the event of risk events.
- Development of preventive measures to protect data and optimize processes.
What is risk management applied to IT?
It is the process by which you decide what to protect first, when you cannot protect everything at once. You identify the scenarios that would stop the company, estimate how much they would cost and how likely they are, and order spending accordingly, instead of buying based on the latest alarm you read about.
How a cyber risk is measured
Two quantities: how likely it is and how much it costs if it happens. The second is easier to estimate than the first, and it is the one that convinces: production down for days, contractual penalties, notifying customers, recovery. A rare risk able to stop the company beats ten frequent, bearable risks in priority.
What is needed first
You cannot assess what you do not know: the starting point is knowing what is exposed (vulnerability assessment) and what the applicable regulation requires (NIS2, GDPR).
What it is NOT
It is not a document to file away for an auditor. A risk register that never changes describes a company that has not understood its own risks. Terms in the glossary.
